The TWC Alliance Program is a one of a kind treatment house that creates a safe and supportive space for the LGBTQ community through their recovery, and bridges a fellowship and brotherhood with the greater recovery community at large.
TWC has created this program to not only addresses recovery from addiction, but also to strive to dig deeper into the layers that some men experience with their sexuality before and after treatment, and foster communication, understanding, and positive relationships with straight allies.
The Alliance Program combines and teaches a practical working knowledge of each of the of the AA and NA twelve step programs, Process Addictions, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, SMART Programming, and Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy in their unique program.
The underlying messages of unity, brotherhood, family, and recovery are born out of the spiritual concepts encompassed in the Course in Miracles and The Master Key System. The course is now coined as ‘CBTwelve’, a practical application of the steps in a spiritual, cognitive approach.
Each week has a theme that can include:
- Introductions / Agreements
- The Law of Attraction
- The Turning Point/Wellness Week
During Process Addiction group sessions, residents at Alliance are introduced to new concepts that correlate to the “themes of the week” which are chosen to tackle real time topics and issues being navigated by residents within the Alliance houses as they happen. This approach leads residents through a comprehensive understanding of the core principles designed by the Alliance program in a way that is personal, meaningful, and real-time.
Participants at Alliance are provided with a safe, stable, structured environment that serves as an ideal forum for discussion and contemplation. Meditative practices are heavily incorporated as a form of self-reflection and decompression, and residents have access to support staff, trained clinical counsellors, external professional therapy and nightly 12 Step meetings.
In addition to all of the clinical treatment programs offered by Alliance, out residents also have access to a wide range of therapeutic and social programming that includes:
- Art Therapy
- Music Therapy
- Weekly Outings
- Subsidized Recreational Centre Passes
