Kundalini Yoga at Alliance


Kj Wiik has begun to lead clients at our Alliance Program through introductory Kundalini yoga sessions on a weekly basis. Kundalini is described as “the yoga of awareness,” it aims to awaken levels of consciousness not typically experienced in our day to day lives. Yoga practice is based on the philosophy that energy centers exist throughout the body which can be tapped into through breathing, stretching and meditative techniques. Regularly practicing yoga has been proven to reduce stress, still the mind and improve sleep to name just a few of the benefits.

Kundalini Yoga is one of the many therapeutic techniques offered to our clients as they explore a variety of traditional and contemporary belief systems and spiritual philosophies. We aim to give the men in our Residential Treatment Program a variety of paths to explore as they walk towards self-discovery and freedom from active addiction.
